The connection between MS and fungus
Chronic fungal infections are present alongside many diseases, including MS. In the Live Disease Free Academy, we have been able to help hundreds of Wellness Champions recover from MS and other chronic diseases by treating infections in the body. Over 30 years of scientific research has shown that MS is caused by infections, most often a combination of fungus, bacteria and parasites. Fungal overgrowth is always present in multiple sclerosis and must be treated effectively to recover.
One of the infections that cause MS
I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 30 years ago. At that time, I was given no hope for a cure and the experts assured me that I would be completely disabled in time.
Shortly after my diagnosis I decided to take a different path – to find and treat the root cause of the disease that was threatening to take my life. Back then I was fortunate to find books by several hero doctors who advocated that MS is caused by infections in the body.
Fungus – the first infection I was introduced to
As far back as the 1970s, several medically-trained health care professionals knew that fungal overgrowth played a significant role in causing multiple sclerosis. Dr. William Crook, Dr. Orian Truss, Dr. Luc De Schepper and Dr. Zoltan Rona are four doctors who understood that MS is caused by infection, and that fungal overgrowth is a major cause of multiple sclerosis (and all chronic disease).
If the fungal overgrowth and other infections were treated successfully, these doctors found that the disease in their patients would stop, and the patient would have a lot of recovery.
For myself, fungal overgrowth was one of the main infections I had to treat to recover from MS. I will be forever grateful to these amazing leaders in health care for having the courage to offer the best way for their patients to recover from MS and other diseases. Because they persevered I am alive and well today.
What the research is saying
Research shows that there are at least 400 different species of fungi that can cause disease in humans. Fungal overgrowth in the body can produce over 70 toxins and can cause over 80 symptoms.
There are many species of candida, but molds such as aspergillus can also be present in chronic disease. Exposure to mold and mycotoxins (toxic compounds that are naturally produced by certain types of fungi) can affect the nervous system, directly or through immune cell activation. Not surprisingly, studies show MS patients have a higher incidence of Candida infections, and fungal DNA is often present in their blood.
Symptoms of fungal overgrowth
As stated, fungal overgrowth is very common for those who suffer with chronic disease. Here is a short list of symptoms that might indicate fungal overgrowth in the body:
- allergies
- sinusitis
- asthma

- fingernail or toenail fungus
- jock itch
- rectal itch
- psoriasis
- gas

- cancer
- penicillin allergy
- sleep apnea
How to treat fungus
1. Follow the Live Disease Free eating plan, which greatly reduces the food to the fungal overgrowth while nourishing the body.
2. Support the body by managing constipation, sleeping at least eight hours a night, staying hydrated, reducing toxins in the environment (including mold and EMF/RF radiation exposure), and building a healthy lifestyle.
3. Treat the fungus and other chronic infections effectively with the help of an experienced health care professional or health coach.
