This morning I spoke with a woman who is really sick with chronic disease. Her biggest fears were not her pain or debilitating fatigue or even how the disease would impact her body in the future. She started crying and told me she was terrified she would not be able to care for her children, not be able to help them when they need her the most.

I remember that fear.

Because 37 years ago, I sat in a car on a rainy mountain pass and sobbed the entire way home after my MS diagnosis. Not for myself. For my children. My son was not yet one year old and my daughter was two and a half.

I had just been told that my body was going to fail me, slowly and completely, and there was nothing anyone could do to stop it.

Today I want to tell you what I wish someone had told me that day.

The Day I Received a Sentence I Did Not Deserve

I was 28 years old and genuinely healthy. Active, at my ideal weight. I had no reason to think that Sunday afternoon at the park with my husband and two young children would be the last ordinary day for a very long time.

I noticed a small black spot in my left eye. I blinked. Rubbed it. It stayed. By the next morning it was larger. By day three I had lost all vision in my left eye completely, like a black patch placed over it.

The eye specialist referred me immediately to one of Canada’s leading MS university hospital clinics. Within days, I was sitting across from one of the top neurologists in the country.

He told me I had multiple sclerosis. He said it was incurable. That the cause was unknown. That it always progressed and that in time I would become completely disabled. And then he said something I have never forgotten:

“I am telling you as the expert: there is nothing you can do to stop the course of this disease.”

I left his office in shock. I went home, went to bed, and my mother had to come and care for my children because I could not care for them or myself.

The only solid ground I had left was my faith. I cried out to God and begged for help. I didn’t understand how this could happen to me. And in the middle of all that fear, I had a sense that somehow God would make good could come from this. I held onto that. It was the only hope I had.

One Book Changed Everything

Shortly after my diagnosis, my mother-in-law gave me a book.

This was 1988. No internet. No Google. No communities of patients sharing what was working. That one book, handed to me by divine intervention, opened my eyes to a whole new world of possibilities. I believe it was God answering my prayer.

It was written by a medical doctor who believed that the biggest cause of all chronic disease was infections in the body and that when the root cause was treated, patients recovered, often completely. I went through his symptom list and checked one item after another. The fatigue I had written off as normal. The digestive problems I had lived with since childhood. The tingling. The insomnia. I had always thought those things were just part of who I was.

Now a doctor was saying they were all connected. All pointing to one underlying cause. And that cause could be treated.

I found three more books by medical doctors reaching the same conclusion.

I decided not to take the path the neurologist laid out for me. I chose a different path. Because I believed MS was not random, and that neurological inflammation does not come out of nowhere. There had to be a root cause. And I was going to find it and treat it.

What the Research Actually Shows

Mainstream medicine classifies MS as an autoimmune disease. The immune system attacking the myelin that protects your nerve fibers. Cause unknown.

But here is something that rarely gets mentioned: no MS autoantigen has ever been identified. That means no one has ever found the specific thing the immune system is supposedly attacking or proven the immune system is attacking the body.

So, what is your immune system actually responding to?

There is over 120 years of peer-reviewed scientific research on the connection between infections and neurological disease. Bacteria such as Borrelia. Fungal overgrowth. Parasitic worms that can enter the central nervous system, cause inflammation, and produce lesions in the brain and spinal cord that on imaging look identical to MS lesions.

The gut is where this often begins. About 70 percent of your immune system lives there. When the gut lining is damaged and the balance of microbes is disrupted, harmful organisms gain a foothold. They produce toxins, drive chronic inflammation, and over time, that inflammation reaches the brain and nervous system.

Your immune system is not faulty. It is not attacking your body. It is fighting something real. The problem is that when the infection is never identified and never treated, the immune system never stops fighting. And drugs that suppress the immune response do not remove the infection. They quiet the war but the enemy is still there causing damage.

Recovery starts by addressing what is causing the disease process. Not by managing the response to it.

What Happened When I Addressed the Root Cause

I focused on treating the infections. I changed my diet, removing what was feeding them and giving my body what it needed to heal. I supported my immune system and my gut. I treated the infections directly using safe, evidence-based approaches and stayed consistent for years.

I had no mentor. No community. No knowledgeable doctor in my corner. Just four books, my faith, and a determination to get my life back.

The disease stopped progressing. My symptoms resolved. I got my life back.

Here is what my life looks like today. I have been married for 43 years. We have three children and eight grandchildren. I ride horses. I travel. I was a school teacher for 14 years. I have lived MS-free for 37 years without MS drugs.

The neurologist who diagnosed me told me this was impossible. He was wrong. Not because he was a bad doctor. Because he had never been taught what I eventually learned.

You Are Not Alone. And This Is Not Just My Story.

For over 30 years I have been coaching people to do the same thing I did. Over 2,000 students in more than 15 countries. People who were told there was no hope. People who had been in wheelchairs, who had stopped working, stopped driving, stopped being able to care for their families.

They did the work. They addressed the root cause. They experienced more recovery than they thought possible. Many of them have recovered fully. We now have students who have been MS-free for 10 years.

Their results alongside my own are not just personal stories. They are proof of what the research has been revealing for over a century. MS is an infectious disease. And when you treat the infection, the body can heal.

This is also not only true for MS. The same infectious organisms cause all autoimmune and chronic diseases. When you address the root cause, the body can heal regardless of the label it has been given.

There Is Hope. There Is a Plan.

I want to circle back to the woman I spoke with this morning. The one who was crying because she is terrified she will not be able to care for her children when they need her most.

What you are feeling is not weakness. The fear of becoming a burden, the grief of watching your life shrink, the exhaustion of fighting something no one seems to fully understand. That is not weakness. That is love and courage. And it is real.

But it is not the end of your story.

MS is not random. You did not get here by accident. Your immune system is not faulty. It is responding to something real. And when you understand what that something is, when you treat the actual cause, the body can and does heal.

Once you see it, you cannot unsee it.

There are real solutions to recover from parasites today!

To restore health, we must focus on treating the cause of inflammation, which are parasites. First, identify the enemy (parasites), then support the body and treat the parasites while following a holistic approach. When parasitic infections are treated effectively, we can overcome inflammation or disease.
