My Story — MS Free for 29 Years

Living MS Free - My Story | Live Disease Free

I am so happy to be able to share my amazing story of living MS free for 29 years with you. This is a story of hope, victory, and second chances.

I was diagnosed with MS in 1989 when I was just 28 years old. I was a young mom, had always been a healthy person, I was slim, active, and never sick. In a matter of only a couple of weeks I went from being a healthy normal person to someone diagnosed with MS.

Looking back at that time in my life I was a bit tired, but I had two young children under the age of three, which was to be expected. One sunny Sunday afternoon at the park with my family, I noticed a black spot in the center of my vision in my left eye. I rubbed my eye but it wouldn’t go away.

It quickly got worse and within three days I lost all vision in my left eye. It was as if a black patch covered it completely. I also had tingling and weakness in my legs, headaches, insomnia – I was a mess. I was referred to an MS university hospital in Canada for tests, which concluded that I had multiple sclerosis.

I was told by my neurologist that there is no known cause and there is no cure – I would become completely disabled in time. He warned me that I would be tempted by all kinds of snake oil cures but nothing would stop the progression of my disease.

Finding Hope with an MS Diagnosis

I was devastated. I felt that my life was over. It was a very dark day.

I had so many panicked thoughts. How would I take care of my two young children, and what a burden I would be to my husband.

I cried out to God. I begged him endlessly for help. Even though I felt that the situation was hopeless, I had a peace over me that something good would come out of this.

Shortly after my diagnosis, my mother-in-law gave me a book. She had no idea what it was about but felt it might help me. This book was written by a medical doctor who shared that all chronic disease stems from infections in the body. If the infections are treated, the disease will stop and the patient will have a lot of recovery.

That book opened my eyes to a whole new world of possibilities, a world I didn’t know existed.

At that time, I did not know that I would be able to cure the MS, but this book gave me hope that maybe there was something that I could do stop this horrible disease and get my life back.

Moving Forward to Living MS Free

I truly believe that it was by divine intervention that I was given that book. It showed me the true cause of MS – infection. After reading that book, I decided not to follow the path of standard of care to treat the MS. I decided to take a new path, one that would treat infection, the root cause of MS.

This new path was not easy to follow. I had no mentor, no skilled health care professional in my corner. I didn’t even have the Internet to do research. Each month, our very small local health food store would get a new issue of the Alive magazine and with each new issue I would go to the book review and hope there was a new book written about treating infection.

I began to search the world for safe and effective ways to treat infections.

Over the past 29 years, I have done a ton of research, worked with many different integrative healthcare professionals and tried many safe therapies.

All the hard work has paid off. I have a lived MS free without MS maintenance drugs for the past 29 years.

I went back to school and obtained BSc degree and became a certified high school math and science teacher for 14 years with our local school district. I had my third child who is now a healthy, handsome 23-year-old.

I have also had the amazing privilege to coach hundreds of others in their recovery from chronic disease for the past 18 years. This has been a huge blessing in my life.

We now have an amazing community of Wellness Champions who are leaders, trailblazers and forward thinkers, who are taking back their health and helping us to bring change to the way we treat chronic disease. They are my heroes!

We know so much about the infections that cause MS. I live in Canada, which has one of the highest rates of MS in the world.

Lessons I Learned in my Journey Back to Health:

  1. We must take responsibility for our health. We cannot afford to leave our health solely in the hands of any one health care expert. We must become the director of our health.
  2. We must move from sickness management to creating health.
  3. Wellness is not a mystery. Symptoms and disease stem from three causes: infection, toxicity and nutritional deficiencies.
  4. To live your best life you must treat the cause, not the symptoms!

My goal is to teach you how to take charge of your health and live your best life. If you want to learn more about my approach and the Live Disease Free Academy, please watch my free masterclass.
